Amazon Tests 30-Minute “Amazon Now” Delivery Service

Amazon is piloting a new ultrafast delivery service, Amazon Now, in Seattle and Philadelphia, offering thousands of essential household and fresh grocery items in 30 minutes or less. The rollout uses smaller, densely located warehouses and comes with higher delivery fees than standard Prime shipping. The move signals Amazon’s deeper push into the grocery space and intensifies competition for Instacart and DoorDash, both of which saw stock declines following the announcement. Analysts say the new service strengthens Amazon’s position in on-demand grocery delivery and directly challenges Instacart as the tech giant expands same-day offerings nationwide.

US Lawmakers Push for Investigations Into Shein and Temu

Shein and Temu are under intensifying scrutiny in the US as political leaders call for state and federal investigations into alleged forced labor practices, unsafe materials, and widespread IP theft. Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has opened a probe into Shein, citing concerns about hazardous products, deceptive marketing, and unethical sourcing. At the federal level, Senator Tom Cotton urged the Department of Justice and Homeland Security to investigate both platforms, accusing them of copying American designers, selling counterfeit goods, and exploiting loopholes in import rules. Shein says it will cooperate with the Texas investigation, while Temu has not yet commented. The pressure adds to growing global concerns about fast-fashion supply chains, product safety, data practices, and the companies’ regulatory compliance in multiple markets.
