Southwest Signals a Shift Toward Premium Perks

Southwest Airlines is exploring the launch of its own airport lounge network, a significant move as carriers race to attract higher-spending travelers. CEO Bob Jordan told CNBC the airline is in active discussions with airports and its credit card partner, Chase, to bring lounges to life starting with a recently approved location in Honolulu. While he didn’t offer a launch date, Jordan emphasized that customer demand for premium amenities is clear. The push toward lounges aligns with Southwest’s broader transformation, including the shift to assigned seating, new fees for checked bags, and added loyalty perks like free Wi-Fi. As competitors expand their lounge offerings and travelers increasingly choose airlines based on access, Southwest appears ready to evolve its once-minimalist model to stay competitive.
YouTube TV Unveils New Genre-Based Plans to Court Sports Fans

YouTube revealed that it will introduce more than 10 genre-focused subscription plans for YouTube TV early next year, a move that shows how much influence the platform now has in the U.S. pay-TV world. One of the biggest additions will be a sports-centered plan that includes channels like ESPN, FS1 and NBC Sports, with the option to add NFL Sunday Ticket and RedZone. Viewers will still keep favorite features such as unlimited DVR and the ability to watch four live streams at once. Sports have become a major battleground for streaming services, and YouTube TV is leaning into that momentum after surpassing 125 million paid subscribers and becoming the most-watched TV platform in the country. Although pricing is still unknown, YouTube says the goal is simple: give people more control over what they pay for, whether they want broad entertainment or niche categories like news or family content. The company also shared that it will expand ads on Shorts to the mobile web and begin allowing comments on eligible Shorts ads.
Why AI Isn’t Replacing Affiliate Marketing After All
“AI will make affiliate marketing irrelevant.”
Our research shows the opposite.
Shoppers use AI to explore options, but they trust creators, communities, and reviews before buying. With less than 10 percent clicking AI links, affiliate content now shapes both conversions and AI recommendations.
Tip of the Day
Make decisions from where you’re going, not where you’re standing
If your vision is bigger than your current resources, choose the action the future version of your business would take. That mindset shift alone changes your trajectory.
