JP Morgan Files Lawsuits Over Viva Wallet Investment Dispute

JP Morgan has filed two lawsuits in Greece and the UK, following a legal dispute with Viva Wallet over the valuation of its 2022 investment in the Greek fintech company. The bank seeks 916 million euros from Viva's CEO and executives, accusing them of actions that devalued its investment, while Viva's CEO, Haris Karonis, denounced the lawsuits as intimidation tactics aimed at undermining the company's growth and expansion. JP Morgan owns a 48.5% stake in Viva Wallet, and tensions have escalated regarding the company's future valuation and control rights.

Meta Ends Fact-Checking

Meta is making significant changes to its content management strategies in an effort to foster more free expression and reduce unnecessary censorship. This shift includes ending its third-party fact-checking program in the U.S. and replacing it with a community-driven "Community Notes" system, where users from diverse perspectives can add context to content. Meta also plans to scale back overly restrictive content policies that have hindered political debate and discussion, particularly around topics like immigration and gender identity. These changes aim to restore the original vision of free expression while addressing past issues with over-enforcement and automation errors. Additionally, Meta will personalize political content delivery based on users' preferences, allowing people to better control the amount of civic content they see in their feeds. These moves reflect a commitment to reevaluating and adjusting policies to improve the user experience.
